Wikipedia-Article "Kevin Conroy"

Kevin Conroy (born November 30, 1955 in Westbury, New York) is an American actor of stage, screen, and voice, best known for his portrayal of DC Comics superhero Batman in numerous animated series and features.

Chosen from over 150 candidates, he became the voice of Batman in Batman: The Animated Series, premiering in 1992. He has revived his role as the Dark Knight in The New Adventures of Batman and Superman, Batman Beyond, and Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, and guest starred on Static Shock and The Zeta Project, as well as starred in the feature-length movies Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, and most recently, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman.

Kevin Conroy was once a roommate with future Superman Christopher Reeve at Juilliard Drama School. Coincidentally, another Batman actor Val Kilmer attended the same school as Conroy.

Although the new animated series The Batman does not star Conroy (with Rino Romano instead assuming the role), this new series does not take place in the same 'universe' as all of the series in which Conroy has appeared, including Justice League Unlimited, which is still in production. While the existence of this new series does seem to indicate that Warner Bros. is attempting to restart the Batman animated universe, thereby ending the one started by Bruce Timm, Eric Radomski, and Paul Dini in 1992, it remains to be seen to what extent these two version of Batman will be able to coexist on television.
