Air Bud is the 1997 feature film that sparked the franchise centred around the dog Air Bud. Air Bud is a fictional golden retriever.
The plot revolves around a 12-year-old boy, Josh Framm, who has an interest in basketball. He moves with his family to a new town and is too shy to try out for his middle school's basketball team. Through a series of coincidences, Josh meets Buddy, a dog who escaped his cruel clown owner.
Air Bud has gone on to appear in a string of two feature films and so-far three direct-to-video releases. He plays a different sport in each film.
