Wikipedia-Article "Bad English"

The band Bad English formed in 1988, reuniting keyboardist Jonathan Cain with singer John Waite and bassist Ricky Phillips, his former bandmates in The Babys. Cain and guitarist Neal Schon had enjoyed enormous success in Journey, which Deen Castronovo later joined after playing in Bad English, and they continued on to form Bad English with Waite after Journey disbanded. The first album, eponomously named, was a big seller with two hit singles (including the #1 hit “When I See You Smile”), but the second album’s single didn’t crack the top 40. Bad English ceased recording after this disappointing outcome.
