Ted Allen (born Edward Allen on May 20, 1965, in Carmel, Indiana) is the food and wine expert on the American television program Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

Allen received a degree in psychology from Purdue University in 1987. After graduation, he began working in the print media, first with the Lafayette, Indiana Journal and Courier, then for Chicago and Esquire magazines before becoming a member of the Fab Five. He continues as a contributing editor to Esquire. In October 2005 Ted published his own cookbook, titled "The Food You Want To Eat." He has previously co-authored several books in Esquire's "Things a Man Should Know About..." series.
