FireBlade is the world market term for Honda Motorcycles 900cc sportsbike. The term is seldom found in the US, where the CBR900RR designation prevails. It encompasses several models spanning many years, starting with the CBR900RR in 1992. There were several revisions to this model made over the next eight years, mainly to body work and the engine grew slightly - from 899 to 918 - ending in 2000 with the introduction of its replacement, the CBR929RR. The 929 lasted for only two years (RR1 and RR2), being slightly revised in 2003 with an increase in displacement to 954cc along with other changes, resulting in a model change to CBR954RR. The 954 (RR3 and RR4) were also short lived, with a replacement arriving as a 2005 model, the CBR1000RR. Finally the venerable FireBlade arrived at a true litre of displacement to more easily compete with litre bikes from Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki.
