Biography
Raven-Symone is currently the star of the Disney Channel sitcom, That's So Raven (as Raven Baxter). You see, Raven Baxter is psychic, which means she can see whats going to happen in the future. She struggles in the show but there is always something to laugh about. This sitcom co-stars Rondell Sheridan, T'Keyah 'Crystal' Keymah, Kyle Orlando Massey, Anneliese van der Pol, and Orlando Brown. Raven Baxter is the funky fresh stylin' type who designs her own clothes. She is well known for playing the role of Olivia on The Cosby Show. After The Cosby Show, she got the role of Nicole on Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. She later told her dad that she wanted to sing, and released her debut album when she was eight years old on MCA Records called, Here's to New Dreams. She was the youngest person ever to sign with them. While playing the role of Nicole, Raven had time for her first major movie role playing Stymie's girlfriend in the 1994 film, The Little Rascals. A year after Cooper was over, she appeared in the movie Dr. Dolittle, playing Charisse, the daughter of John Dolittle. Raven-Symone had her first venture with Disney in 1999 with the made-for-tv movie, Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. A few months after Zenon, Raven released her sophomore album, Undeniable, in which she worked with Stevie Wonder. At 15, Raven reprised her role as Charisse in Dr. Dolittle 2. Raven then auditioned once again for Disney for a television series orginally called, Absolutely Psychic. Disney executives decided to re-arrange the show around her. They also renamed the show to That's So Raven. It is now in its 4th season, a first for a Disney Channel show. The show will still be eligible to continue to develop more episodes as long as Raven wants to. She has also been booted to producer of the show. In 2002, Raven gained significant weight over a time of depression, which has led to much speculation. Now Raven is currently working on a handful of movies and Disney-related projects as well, and singing in between. This Is My Time was released in 2004 and she is planning on a recording a new album.
