Gameloft is a leading international publisher and developer of video games for mobile phones, headquarted in France, with offices in New York, San Francisco, Montreal, Quebec, Paris, London, Buenos Aires, Mexicali, Bucharest, Düsseldorf, Milan, Barcelona, Shanghai,Beijing, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Sofia. Gameloft is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange (Bloomberg: GFT FP, Reuters: GFT.PA).
With around 1700 employees worldwide, Gameloft posted consolidated revenues of 20.4 million euros in the first half of 2005, a 134% increase over the previous year. Through agreements with major telephone wireless carriers, handset manufacturers, specialized distributors and its online shop, Gameloft has a distribution network in over 65 countries. The company creates games for mobile handsets equipped with Java, Brew or Symbian technology.
Gameloft was established in 1999 by the Guillemot family as sister company from Ubisoft Entertainment. Partnership agreements with leading licensors and sports personalities such as Ubisoft Entertainement, Universal Pictures, Paramount Studios, Dreamworks, Vans, Derek Jeter, Vijay Singh and Geoff Rowley allowed Gameloft to form strong relationships with international brands.
The latest office established by the company, in Quebec City, was announced in the presence of Mr. Michel Després, Minister of Transport and minister responsible for the Greater Quebec City region, Jean Paul L’Allier, mayor of Quebec City, Martin Tremblay, the General Manager of Ubisoft Canada, and Stéphane Mouchel-Vichard, the General Manager for Gameloft.
