Tri-Cities is an appellation used to refer to several municipal areas, each of which consists mainly of three cities of approximately the same size and regional importance.

Poland

The Tricity (Polish: Trójmiasto) in Poland refers to the agglomeration of Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot.

United States

Washington: The Tri-Cities of Washington consist of Richland, Pasco, and Kennewick, along the banks of the Columbia River.

Tennessee/Virginia: The Tri-Cities of Tennessee/Virginia consist of Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia (a twin city), and the Tennessee cities of Kingsport and Johnson City.

North Carolina has two well-known "tri-cities" areas, the Triangle area (more formally, the Research Triangle of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill); and the Piedmont Triad of Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point.

Michigan: The Tri-Cities of Michigan consist of Bay City, Saginaw, and Midland, located in the Saginaw Valley.

Illinois/Iowa: The cities of Moline and Rock Island in Illinois and Davenport in Iowa were formerly known as the Tri-Cities; with Bettendorf, Iowa, they are now commonly referred to as the Quad Cities. In suburban Chicago, the three far-western suburbs of St. Charles, Geneva and Batavia are known as the Tri-Cities of Illinois.

New York: The three chief cities of New York's Capital DistrictAlbany, Schenectady, and Troy – were once known as the "Tri-Cities."

Colorado: The towns of Firestone, Frederick and Dacono are known to locals as the "tri-towns" or "tri-town area."

Nebraska: The Tri-Cities of Nebraska consist of Grand Island, Kearney, and Hastings, in the south-central part of the state. These are the fourth, fifth, and ninth largest cities in the state, respectively.

Virginia: The independent cities that comprise the Tri-Cities of Virginia are Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Hopewell. this area is located in the the Greater Richmond Region approximately 25 miles south of Richmond.

California: The three oldest cities in Orange County - Anaheim, Orange, and Santa Ana.

Canada

British Columbia: The Tri-Cities of British Columbia, located east of Vancouver, are Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody.

Ontario: The Tri-Cities of Ontario, located west of Toronto, are Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, Canada's Technology Triangle.

China

Wuhan is a collection of the towns of Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang in the Hubei Province of China.
