Tyson Cleotis Chandler (born October 2, 1982 in Hanford, California) is a professional basketball player.
Chandler plays for the Chicago Bulls at either the power forward or center positions. Chandler was drafted 2nd overall in the 2001 NBA Draft right out of Dominguez High School by the Los Angeles Clippers, who traded him to the Chicago Bulls for power forward Elton Brand.
Chandler recently signed a long term deal to remain a Chicago Bull for the next six years. The deal is thought to be worth close to 60 million dollars, with incentives. In this case it is probable that the incentives would include playing a certain amount of games, (Chandler had back problems for two of his years in the league) and an increase in scoring average. (Chandler's career high average for PPG is 9.2) He is more known for his defense, being among the league leaders in rebounds per 48 minutes, and blocks per 48 minutes.
Chandler got married in the summer of 2005, his wedding had several NBA players attend, including teammate Ben Gordon, and high school teammate Detroit Piston, Tayshaun Prince. Chandler is that last member on the Bulls left from the Jerry Krause era.
