Wikipedia-Article "Austin Croshere"

Austin Nathan Croshere (1 May 1975 in Los Angeles, California) is a professional basketball player in the NBA. Following a career at Providence College, Croshere was the 12th pick of the 1997 NBA draft, selected by the Indiana Pacers. The pick was noted as being the first under Larry Bird, and Croshere, a forward noted for his shooting touch, drew comparisons to Bird.

In the Pacers bid for the NBA finals against the Los Angeles Lakers, Croshere played a large role, drawing attention for his fearless play and unique free throw shooting method. A contract year, he flirted with signing with the Toronto Raptors before resigning with the Pacers. With a contract that started at over $5 million a year, Croshere was expected to be a budding star and a leader of the team, but he didn't find a role on the team, and averaged 10.1 points per game during his first year under the new contract.

Croshere was relegated to a bench role, gaining a minor resurgance in the wake of injuries and suspencions during the Pacers 2004-2005 season, when he averaged 8.9 points per game. His career average is 7.4 points per game.
